I have had a couple of personal trainers. Jeni is by far the best one. She has great technical expertise and knowledge about body mechanics. She carefully tracks what muscles we have worked in the last session and makes sure that we are focusing on different muscle groups, using a wide variety of techniques, in the following session. But at least as important, for me, is that she is unfailingly upbeat and encouraging. I am sometimes in a bad mood or feeling low energy when a session starts, but I always finish feeling better. I’d also like to mention that we started before the pandemic and we went through it without missing a beat. Jeni quickly adapted and the remote workouts have been excellent. I give her the highest rating in all respects!

I started working with Jeni Hartwick at True Body Fitness in Detroit, and when she branched off and started her own business, I followed her. The couple of years that I worked one-on-one with Jeni were transformative toward my fitness capabilities. She is absolutely amazing!!! When I started training with her, I struggled with even basic aerobic abilities. Strength training was challenging for me too. For example, I couldn't even do a full squat. She was stellar about scaling workouts to my level so that I could get stronger at my own pace. When I started setting weight loss goals, we kept a nutrition log together and she was regularly giving me feedback on how to eat right. That's important because exercise alone cannot help you meet your fitness goals. She had a lot of great suggestions and feedback for this type of counseling. She also trained me throughout one of my pregnancies. She was incredible in tailoring workouts not only to each trimester, but in response to the various challenges that arose during my pregnancy. She was incredibly knowledgeable about safety in pregnancy, and she was also great about helping me engage in workouts that would make me healthier and stronger both during pregnancy and afterward for my postpartum recovery. I also loved how great she was in connecting me to motivational resources. I discovered Girls Gone Strong, Melissa Bender and Emily Skye through Jeni. I still follow these resources, and they are an added benefit to me learning more about exercising and strength-training as a woman and mom. I no longer work with Jeni because I relocated from Michigan to Mississippi. But when I wrapped up my time with her, I was flat out strong in ways that I never imagined I could be. I remember hitting my first 3-digit deadlift through her workout plans and fitness training. She laid the foundation for me to continue strength training afterward as well. I wholeheartedly recommend Jeni Hartwick as a personal trainer to anyone at any level who is seeking one-on-one training. She's especially great for women throughout all stages of pregnancy (pre- and post- included).

I really enjoy my workouts with Jeni. There's always something different to keep things fun and interesting, and it's always challenging! I've definitely gotten stronger and more flexible. I've had injuries and surgeries in the past, and Jeni's great at taking that into account and making modifications when I need it, while still making sure that I get an effective workout.
